A quick note on the month of August. In Canada, it is hot, it is vacation season and overall, I cannot be bothered to spend time in the kitchen.

Yes, a large component of my blog is cooking, so how such an aversion to the home of culinary creation be my case? To be honest, I have a bunch of fabulous and easy recipes that I never posted because I did not think they carried much merit. But the more I thought about it, the more these simple recipes actually can be helpful to others! My blog is my passion project at this point, not my career. I also have a job, a schedule and responsibilities. For the month of August, I will be posting 10 of my quick and easy go-to recipes. There is no particular genre in mind, just recipes that I use when I am busy.

The first recipe I am going to share with you is one that I have been using for a few months. I decided in April that I wanted to cut out my midday coffee. It was a bad habit that my body was getting addicted to. The problem was, like any addiction, I needed something to help with my midday slump. I tried green juice which was good but I did not feel heightened in my energy. Finally, I explored matcha green tea. There is still caffeine in matcha but it is half that of a cup of coffee. Plus, there are a bunch of antioxidants in matcha and it supports your metabolism (GotMatcha, 2019).

For my 5 Minute Matcha Latté recipe to be truly convenient, I recommend having a leakproof travel mug such as this one. I use mine even at home because I find that a travel mug keeps the beverage warmer longer which is convenient if you’re a slow sipper like me, someone on the run or a busy mom chasing toddler(s). With a leakproof mug, you can literally dump the ingredients right into the mug and shake. No drama with a blender, no convenience expense at a retail coffee shop, just 5 minutes and you’re good to go!
